Assistance League® of Conejo Valley, is part of a national nonprofit 501(c)(3 transforming the lives of children and adults through community programs. Our Thrift Shop in Thousand Oaks is the chapter's major source of fundraising along with donations & grants. Chapter programs include: Operation School Bell® Clothing Nights allow identified students to attend a shopping event with their parents to select their own clothing & shoes. Emergency Clothing provides local school health offices with necessary clothing items in case of accidents during the school day. Literacy Program provides new books to students in low-income schools, tutoring in the classroom by member volunteers, and educational supplies enhancing learning. Share-A-Bear program distributes bears to those in need of comfort in traumatic situations. “I’m in Charge” is a personal safety program presented to third-grade students. Assault Survivor Kits® provides essential items of clothing & grooming aids for victims of assault whose clothes have been retained for evidence. Emergency clothing is provided to a local hospital for Hospital Emergency Necessities and knitted hats are provided to newborns, teens, & adults in need through Hats of Hope. Activity mats for senior homes provided by our Community Crafts. Vision for the Future offers eye exams & glasses to students in need. Eye Can See offers eye exams & glasses to adults in need. Fresh Start assists individuals in need of proper interview and/or work attire. Assisteens® Auxiliary- 7th-12th graders.
