Assistance League® of Conejo Valley, a nonprofit 501(c) 3 transforming the lives of children and adults through community programs. Our Thrift Shop in Thousand Oaks is our major source of fundraising along with donations & grants. Chapter programs include Operation School Bell® Clothing that allows identified students to attend a shopping event with their parents to select their own clothing. Emergency Clothing provides local schools with necessary clothing items in case of accidents during the school day. Literacy Program provides new books to students in low-income schools, gently used books for local service agencies, and member volunteers in the classroom to support literacy. Vision for the Future provides eye exams and glasses for students in need. Scholarships are awarded to those in need to enhance educational success. Share-A-Bear program distributes bears to those in need of comfort. Assault Survivor Kits® provides essential items of clothing & grooming aids for victims of assault. Emergency clothing is provided to hospitals for Hospital Emergency Necessities and knitted hats are provided to newborns, teens, & adults in need through Hats of Hope. Eye Can See program offers eye exams & glasses to adults in need. Fresh Start assists adults in need of clothing for work and school. Resources for Learning provides for educational opportunities. Sharing the Warmth helps the homeless. Women’s Wellness works with local free clinics to provide mammograms and Pap tests and Medical Support Services provides for client needs at free clinics.
Our Thrift Shop is temporarily closed while we will be move across the street to 2860 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd. with parking and entry in the back. Reopening in mid-September.
