HEALING GARDEN INSPIRES PATIENTS ON THE MEND AT
LOS ROBLES HEALTH SYSTEM’S REHABILITATION HOSPITAL

Tranquil healing environment helps patients recovering from a variety of medical ailments, including strokes, heart attacks, trauma injuries, and more

THOUSAND OAKS, CA – August 20, 2025— On Wednesday, August 20th, Los Robles Health System unveiled their new Healing Garden at their Rehabilitation Hospital, a campus set on preparing patients with skillsets that focus on regaining independence. Located in Westlake Village, the hospital has an inpatient unit, cardiac rehab program and offers both inpatient and outpatient therapies including: physical, occupational and speech.
The Healing Garden provides a serene and tranquil healing environment for patients recovering from a variety of medical ailments including strokes, heart attacks, trauma injuries and more.

Throughout the garden you will find three beautiful rock fountains along a path that accentuates the newly planted flowers and shrubs and three beautiful shady trees that are native to the campus. “The garden has already proven to be a hit among patients that have tested out the grounds for their physical therapy walks,” said Kim Hebert, VP of Rehab Services at Los Robles Health System “Patients also benefit from light therapy, which is beneficial in reducing symptoms of depression, a side effect often seen after a debilitating diagnosis.”
In addition to providing patients with a beautiful escape, the garden also features a diverse herb selection and a greenhouse that has been incorporated to help support patients during their occupational therapy journey. After weeks or months of regaining strength, patients at the Rehab Campus will soon celebrate their discharge milestone by cooking their favorite recipe or go-to meal while utilizing herbs and vegetables from the garden. This allows patients to validate their progress and break bread with their biggest fans, their care team.
“We strive to create an environment that is encouraging and uplifting at our Rehab Hospital Campus,” said Hebert. “This project has been a long time in the making, and I am so proud that we are able to provide a healing environment for our patients. Our patients that are admitted to our campus are

remarkable and exhibit strength and determination throughout their recovery process. It is my hope that they can enjoy a beautiful garden that nurtures a peaceful and inspiring environment in the midst of the challenges they are battling.”
The Healing Garden is accessible to patients of the campus and thanks to its thoughtful design, it has also attracted a variety of different birds and butterflies, making it the perfect oasis for patients and their families on the road to recovery.
