Legislative Roundtable provides a setting for dialogue to take place on public policy issues and gives public agency staff, elected officials, their staff and businesses an opportunity to network. The meeting includes a guest speaker on a public sector topic and regular updates from our local cities, agencies, and elected officials.
Staff members provide brief reports from their prospective agencies to inform each other and members of the chamber of upcoming events or other items of interest.
This Month's Speaker:
Dr. Christopher DeSimone, DO
General and Robotic Minimally Invasive Surgery, Los Robles Health System
Topic: Robotic Surgery at Los Robles Health System
After completing his general surgical residency at Hackensack Meridian Hospital in New Jersey, he moved to Northern California where he provided a vast array of surgical care including office-based procedures, Vascular surgical procedures, Oncologic surgeries (Breast, Colon, Small bowel, Melanoma, etc.) and Advanced Robotic procedures. With the help of Intuitive Surgical, he quickly became one of the largest volume Robotic Surgeons in Santa Cruz, CA and realized his passion for Minimally Invasive Robotic Surgery. Over time he developed the desire to build a surgical practice centered around cutting-edge robotic surgery and decided to start DeSimone Surgical, Inc., a general surgery practice centered around providing Minimally Invasive Robotic Surgery.
Dr. DeSimone currently provides care at Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, CA and Adventist Health Hospital in Simi Valley, CA. He has two offices in Newbury Park, CA and Moorpark, CA where he provides consultations, pre-operative and post-operative care. He continues to partner with Intuitive Surgical group to advance his Robotic Surgical skills with the goal of providing advanced surgical care to patients throughout Ventura County.
Aside from his passion for Robotic surgery, Dr. DeSimone’s top focus is on compassionate, comprehensive patient care which centers around collaboration with his patients, his staff, and his medical colleagues. He utilizes the principles of standardized pre-operative and post-operative care through the usage of the ERAS (Early Recovery After Surgery) protocol. Utilizing this strategy, he is able to provide his patients with the pre-operative and post-operative tools to allow for a fast and easy recovery.
