The Center for Advanced Wound Healing at Los Robles Hospital Recognized with National President’s Circle Award for Clinical Excellence

Thousand Oaks, CA, April 2, 2017 – Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center is one of only 16 centers nationwide, and the only center in California to receive the President’s Circle Center of Distinction award from Healogics, the nation's largest provider of advanced wound care services.

Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for twelve consecutive months in their first full year of operation, including patient satisfaction higher than 92 percent, and a minimum wound healing rate of at least 91 percent within 30 median days to heal. There were 635 Centers eligible for the Center of Distinction award, but only 16 achieved this honor.

“Becoming a nationally recognized wound care center within such a short span of time is a reflection of our team’s commitment to providing high-quality healthcare,” said Dr. Hannah Grossman, Chief Medical Officer at Los Robles Hospital. “Our community is fortunate to have a wound care team that possesses the experience, clinical expertise, and service excellence that our wound care center has. Congratulations to Dr. Suski and his dedicated team. ”

The Center for Advanced Wound Healing is a member of the Healogics network of nearly 700 Wound Care Centers and provides access to benchmarking data and proven experience treating approximately 2.5 million chronic wounds. Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center offers highly specialized wound care to patients in the Southern California region suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections, burns and other wounds, which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time. Advanced treatments include negative pressure wound therapy, bio-engineered skin substitutes, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, biological and biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies.

“Our unique, multidisciplinary, team approach to treating patients strives to quickly help patients who suffer from non-healing wounds. We are very proud of the outstanding work our nurses, hyperbaric technicians, and physicians do each day to help these patients,” said Paul Schneider, Program Director at the Center for Advanced Wound Healing at Los Robles Hospital.

“On behalf of the patients we heal, we are honored to have achieved the President’s Circle Award in our first year of operations,” said Dr. Mark Suski, Medical Director at the Center for Advanced Wound Healing at Los Robles Hospital. “It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our physicians and nurses.  We remain grateful for the support of the community and hospital administration.”

About The Center for Advanced Wound Healing
The Center for Advanced Wound Healing at Los Robles Hospital provides specialized treatment for chronic or non-healing wounds, which are characterized as sores or wounds that have failed to significantly improve from traditional treatments. Some of the symptoms of non-healing wounds are poor circulation, poorly functioning veins, and immobility. Such chronic wounds can lead to diminished quality of life and in some cases, amputation of the affected limb. We emphasize limb preservation and salvation using a variety of clinical treatments, therapies, and support services to treat chronic non-healing wounds. We provide access to state of the art equipment for outpatient clinical wound care and evidenced based, advanced treatment options.
