Southeast Ventura County YMCA's Annual Support Campaign Underway

The Southeast Ventura County YMCA's annual fundraising campaign is now underway. Funds raised during the campaign (which runs through March 2) provide financial assistance to low-income individuals and families who would not otherwise be able to afford YMCA programs and resources.
"The pandemic continues to hit families hard," says Ronnie Stone, Southeast Ventura YMCA CEO. "Your continued support allows the Y to serve our community during this difficult time. Everyone who wants to be part of the Y and participate in our programs can do so. No one is ever turned away because of an inability to pay."
The Y offers no-cost programs throughout the year. Safety Around Water (SAW) is designed to teach children water safety and basic swimming skills. Find My Genius is an academic and enrichment summer camp experience for low- and moderate-income students who are not reading at grade level.
"The donations received during our once-a-year fundraising campaign impact thousands of kids, adults and families in our community," says Stone. "In addition to our fitness, enrichment and academic programs, we offer online classes that were born out of the pandemic. Every donation helps and is greatly appreciated."
The YMCA has been part of the community since 1964. It is a nonprofit charitable organization with a mission to build relationships, impact lives and strengthen the community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Despite in-person pandemic restrictions, the YMCA branches in the Conejo and Simi valleys served over 10,000 residents in 2021 including more than 1,500 who were able to participate because of money raised during the annual support campaign.
Donations go to the Southeast Ventura County YMCA or can be designated to a specific YMCA branch or event.
