Thousand Oaks, CA, July 1st, 2021 – Starting with a small office in Ventura in 2006 shortly before the 2008 recession, the Express Employment Professionals office expanded to two locations, first in Oxnard and then in Thousand Oaks. The offices have since placed 22,564 people in various Light Industrial, Skilled Trades, Office Services and Professional jobs; and sent out a total of 286,099 paychecks. Owners, Neil and Janet McMillan, powered through the recession and now a global pandemic. Taking it in stride, the Express team has ranked as high as #7 out of more than 800 Express locations Internationally. They have been recognized as a Top 50 Fastest Growing Company on two different occasions by the Pacific Coast Business Times. Neil McMillan, President and Owner, contributes their success to providing quality candidates to quality companies. “[It’s] the real value companies can get by getting good people and helping good people get good jobs,” he remarked. That and serving the community has been a real forefront in the Express Employment Professionals company culture. “Our job is to change people’s lives to change our community and businesses for the better,” Neil commented.
Now in celebration of their 15th Anniversary, Express Employment Professionals is hosting a Summer Hiring Drive and a Summer Job Fair Series.
The Summer Hiring Drive takes place between August 2nd – September 3rd, 2021. For every person who earns a paycheck with Express Employment Professionals for the first time during that period, Express will donate $15 to the Ventura County Rescue Mission. The goal is to place at least 250 new employees out to work.
To supplement the Summer Hiring Drive, Express is also hosting a Summer Job Fair Series from July 12th – August 30th. The job fairs will be taking place throughout Ventura County in an effort to put as many people to work as possible amidst a shortage of workers. Both Express offices are partnering with local chambers, schools, and nonprofit organizations to manage the job fairs.
Janet and Neil McMillan had this to say, “The idea is as often as possible to get people started on a career, not just a job, but also to help grow and transform companies.”
