The Friends are celebrating 60 years in the Conejo Valley supporting libraries by raising funds to promote enhanced library services. The City Council will present a 60th Anniversary Proclamation to the Friends on September 13th at 5:30pm and all are invited to participate in documenting 60 years of promoting library services in the Conejo Valley. The Friends of the Thousand Oaks Library is proud to be an active supporter of the excellent library services provided in our community.

On September 19th at 4:30pm, a ribbon cutting ceremony featuring a newly reorganized Friends Bookshop will take place with Danielle Borja, CEO/President of the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce, cutting the ribbon. This event takes place at the Grant R. Brimhall Library located at 1401 E. Janss Road in the Friends Bookshop area. Here you will find attractive like new books, puzzles, CDs, DVDs, and more at very, very low prices. The Friends bookshops in each library are one way that the Friends promote literacy, learning, and cultural awareness in the community. Be a contributor and recycle your books  by dropping your used books in the Friends book drops at each library.

On September 24th from 11:00am-4:00pm, join the Friends in celebrating the Thousand Oaks Library Ruby Red 40th Anniversary! We plan to be at the Grant R. Brimhall Library for a day filled with fun activities and community celebration. Come out to enjoy all of the wonderful activities planned by the Library for their Ruby Red Celebration. If you are not already a member of the Friends, join up at our booth on September 24th.
