Assistance League® of Conejo Valley formally installed its elected officers and directors in a virtual meeting on August 10, attended by 62 members.

Those installed included president Mari Hill, Vice President Membership Leith Devine, Vice President Philanthropic Programs Rozalia Schwanauer, Vice President Resource Development Chriss Alwood, Treasurer Kate Pryor, recording Secretary Lisa Ellison, Corresponding Secretary Marianne Boone, Director of Education Judy Flessner, Director of Marketing Communications Cathy Ely, Director of Strategic Planning Lynne Stevenson, Assisteens® Coordinator Nicole Radoumis and Parliamentarian Pro Tem Kally McMurray-Fisher.

These women along with 116 other members and its teen auxiliary Assisteens®  support 9 philanthropic programs benefiting eight communities in the greater Conejo Valley, touching over 18,000 children and adults and returning over $280,000 to the community in 2019-2020.  These programs are primarily supported by the revenue from the Assistance League of Conejo Valley Thrift Shop in Thousand Oaks. Last year, members volunteered 32,000 hours in programs that included the provision of new school clothes and shoes for students, literacy promotion, vision assistance for children and adults, making essential clothing and grooming items available for emergency room patients and school children needing a clothing change, providing handmade hats for infants, cancer survivors and the homeless, and teaching students to deal with personal safety issues.

The chapter remains dedicated to its mission of transforming the lives of children and adults through community programs with twenty-five years of service in the Conejo Valley.  To make a donation to support these philanthropic programs or to inquire about becoming a member, visit their website at alconejovalley.org.
