Event Description:

The Education Committee works to improve the future quality of your workforce by hosting quality educational programs through local partnerships. Meetings include a presentation by featured speakers in the areas of Education, Job Training, Human Resources, Community Programs, and updates from our local partners.

The Education Committee coordinates interaction between businesses, local school districts, private schools and universities.

This committee also leads our Teacher of the Month Program where we honor educational excellence by rewarding teachers with a plaque in their name and gifts from Chamber Members. This is an opportunity for Chamber Members (you) to acknowledge our educators while also giving a brief description of your organization!

This Month's Speaker: Irfan Khan, Founder & CEO - Supernova Academy Incorporated

Irfan Khan has a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, complimented by a Project Management Professional certification and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. He has worked in a multitude of industries ranging from Defense to Commercial Aerospace, Manufacturing, Healthcare and Education. As he traversed through these diverse industries, he evolved himself in acquiring knowledge, expanding his horizon, and applying the principles of structured project management and performance excellence. Irfan has a passion for teaching, where he can bring real life education in the classroom and provide mentorship to participants. He has been teaching project management and lean six sigma for 20+ years at major universities, including UCLA and UCSB.

During his journey as a program leader and educator, Irfan had a vision to create an immersive and interactive education platform and learning experience. His vision evolved into the formation of Supernova Academy Incorporated, which uses augmented reality as the foundation. The platform has a patent pending and is built from hands-on and real-life case studies to maximize learning experience. Currently, Supernova has partnerships with major international customers in life sciences, construction, and investment banking to facilitate project management training.

During the year 2022, Irfan attended and presented at 2 major conferences. The first conference, called Collision, took place in Canada and the second one, called AI42022, took place in Las Vegas. Irfan's company Supernova Academy was a sponsor at the AI conference, hence he brings a wealth of knowledge from his experiences with a multitude of customers at these conferences.
